Rateng Powdered Cuff

Recently Africa has come to the fore for various great reasons. Most notably we had an African American holding the highest office in the United states of America in 2008, President Barrack Obama. Marvel unveiled the first African SuperHero, the Black Panther. These are symbols of hope that inspire both the young and the old generations that good things can come out of places erroneously called dark.

Rateng means the dark one in Dholuo. At DIRO we strongly believe that it is Africa’s time.

This was our maiden collection and It is a work of Brass infused with texture achieved by hammering. The pieces in this collection bear the African Map in two distinct features: the full map, An outline of it and broken iterations symbolizing the different circumstances we have to emerge from.

The collection has matured to include different iterations of the different pieces in the collection. The bangles or Cuffs are available in wire and Sheet Brass. Earrings in Dangling Hoops and Stud form, Rings and lapel pins are also available.

All the accessories are available in Gold and Silver plating and come in two sizes; large and medium. The sizes can be customized to our customer preference.
